Bethany Vision Nepal Objectives
Prevention from family separation is the first and foremost approach to protect children in their family and community. The prevention activities will foster the knowledge, attitude and practice on child protection. Our prevention approaches include awareness and education to children through school clubs, parents through mother’s groups and other stakeholders through discussion, consultations and advocacy.
Family is in the heart of Bethany Vision Nepal. We work with police, Anti-human Trafficking Bureau and government to rescue children from the risk or survivors of child sexual abuse and trafficking. The rescued children are taken care of in the Bethany Home. The home can house 20 children at a time. Children are provided with the following care while being in the home with the goal of family and/or community restoration. The vision is that every victim will be rescued and restored into their family and community as soon as possible ensuring the justice according to international and the national law of Nepal.
We want to see every child restored in family or family-based care into their closest community. The goal of restoration is ‘to sustain children in family, kinship and other forms of family based care in their community with zero revictimization ensuring the best interest of the child'. Restoration takes time and is a holistic approach. We have adopted the following IJM model to sustainably restore the child.
